Waiting On Wednesday

"Waiting On Wednesday" is a weekly event, hosted by Jill from Breaking The Spine,  that spotlights upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.  It is always so hard to decide which books I want to feature on Wednesdays.  There are so many wonderful books coming out this year.  Waiting is such torture!  Here is what I am waiting for this week:

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: an Eclipse Novella
Written by Stephenie Meyer
Release Date: June 5, 2010
Published by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: an Eclipse NovellaSummary from Goodreads:

"Fans of The Twilight Saga will be enthralled by this riveting story of Bree Tanner, a character first introduced in Eclipse, and the darker side of the newborn vampire world she inhabits. In another irresistible combination of danger, mystery, and romance, Stephenie Meyer tells the devastating story of Bree and the newborn army as they prepare to close in on Bella Swan and the Cullens, following their encounter to its unforgettable conclusion."

*I was so surprised yesterday when I saw this announcement!  If you are excited about this and would like to find out more information,  you can check out ( or go to Stephenie Meyer's website.  The really cool part is that Stephenie is offering this novella as a free ebook download as a gift to her fans!  It is also being released in a hardcover edition so fans can add it to their collections.  One dollar from the proceeds of the sale of the hardcover will be donated to The Red Cross!

The Mockingbirds
Written by Daisy Whitney
Release Date: November 2, 2010
Published by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers

The MockingbirdsSummary from Goodreads:

"Some schools have honor codes.
Others have handbooks.
Themis Academy has the Mocking

Themis Academy is a quiet boarding school with an exceptional student body that the administration trusts to always behave the honorable way--the Themis Way. So when Alex is date raped during her junior year, she has two options: stay silent and hope someone helps her, or enlist the Mockingbirds--a secret society of students dedicated to righting the wrongs of their fellow peers.

In this honest, page-turning account of a teen girl's struggle to stand up for herself, debut author Daisy Whitney reminds readers that if you love something or someone--especially yourself--you fight for it."

*I am really looking forward to this book!  It sounds like one of those books that once you read it - you never forget it!

Now you know what I am waiting for!  What are you waiting for?

  1. Wow, you got there quick with the first one! I'm interested to read it but I would have preferred her to release Midnight Sun. Not heard of The Mockingbirds but it sounds interesting - will look out for that one!

  2. Thank you Jennifer! I hope it's a book you won't forget and at the very least I hope you enjoy reading it! Thanks for the shout out!

  3. I'm excited for the Mocking bird one :)
