Monday's Question of the Day! (Feb. 01, 2010)

** Thanks to Eleni at la femmme readers for hosting Monday's Question of the Day**

I love books that pull me into the world the author creates.  Some authors create worlds that are so vivid and well developed that you feel as if you are really there.  My question is ..... If you could enter into the world of one of your favorite books for a day what book would you choose and why?

My Answer:
There are many worlds authors have created that I would LOVE to spend some time in!  Who wouldn't want to spend the day in Forks and drool over Edward, Emmett, and Jasper for awhile?! But if I had my choice of all the places my favorites books have taken me, I would choose to go into the world created by Cassandra Clare in The Mortal Instruments.  The world that Cassandra Clare created and the characters in it are so well developed that as I read the books I felt like I was there with Clary, Jace, Simon, and the rest of the characters.  I loved all of the supernatural elements included in this series and it would be pretty cool to be a shadowhunter for a day!!

*I would love to hear your answers! Comment and let me know!!

  1. Hm. I think Percy Jackson's world is pretty cool. I mean, I'd love to be one of Atena's kid or something like that, you know? Although we gotta fight and etc... It's exciting.

  2. Great choice! I know it is common but I would want to live in Hogwarts. It seems like just the right combination of fantasy and reality for me and every time I read the books I can't help but drool over the library at the school. Ah... to get to study there...

  3. I would love to go into the world that Libba Bray created for the Gemma Doyle trilogy. It's beautiful and you could have everything you wish for, even if it isn't all that great afterwards.

I also really need to start reading The Mortal Instruments series. I keep reading on how amazing it is.

  4. Great question! I totally agree with Cassandra's world, it's one of my fave series. I'd also love Lesley's Livingston world with Wondrous Strange and Darklight, it's a great faerie world :)

  5. I was gonna say Hogwarts too, but I would also like to go somewhere that is an urban setting, but know about and live with the paranormal elements around me, like in Shiver or The Dark Divine.

  6. Cassandra clare's world totally rocks! Great pick! I also like Hogwarts and I'd love to spend a few days with Harry Dresden!

  7. I would have to say in Jane Austen's world in the book Pride and Prejudice. I love the olden day things and Mr. Darcy.

Good question and I agree with you on going into Cannandra's world.
